Baccarat has relocated to the Hotel de Noailles, a historical mansion located at 11 Place des Etats-Unis in Paris where the Crystal World of Baccarat is on display in over 30,000 sq. ft. divided into a boutique, an art gallery, and a restaurant.
In this magnificent place of pomp and tradition, luminary patron of the arts Marie-Laure de Noailles used to hold a famous salon artistique. From the middle of the 20th century until her passing away in 1970 her mansion became a magnet for artists such as Salvador Dali, Man Ray, Balthus, and Jean Cocteau.
No setting could have been better suited to become the home of Baccarat, a name that epitomizes art de vivre a la française.
So powerful is the atmosphere of the place, world-renowned architect Philippe Starck was seized by inspiration immediately upon entering it. "Baccarat is a fantasy world to me," Starck wrote. "Crystalware shines, the light plays through its angled cuts to form visual illusions. I aimed at designing a space where dream and reality cross over, where everything feels completely three-dimensional."
